Librarian staff development - May 1, 2013

Please join us for the TLA Sharing Session on Tuesday, May 1 from 12:30-3:30 in the Leadership Room at the PDC.

Elementary librarians who are covering a 3rd grade class during that time will be provided a sub.

The format of our meeting will be a little different this year. Instead of rotating to small group sessions, you will get to see two fabulous TLA presentations in their entirety. We are able to do this because there were two sessions at TLA presented by MISD librarians!

The presentations will be:

Reel Read: from Movie to Book Programs for Tweens and Teens

Want to host a literacy event for your students? Find out how to use popular movies and book themes to build literacy as well as curricular projects. Speakers will cover everything from writing grant proposals and planning collaboration to publicity and ideas for followup.

Presenters: Sherry Doran, NMHS and Leann Weatherly, Black Elementary

Bypass the Boring! Revolutionize Your Library Communications

Want to re-energize communications with faculty and administrators? Need a new idea for promoting your library? In this session, find answers to these questions and more using web tools to showcase innovative programming in your library.

Presenters: Marnie Cushing, PHS and Colleen Duke, Seabourn Elementary

In addition, we will see a TLA slideshow and discuss end of year procedures.

Refreshments will be provided.

See you there!
