In case you don't subscribe to TLC, I'm posting this message below. This is a great resource to promote with your parents!

To all Texas School Library Specialists and School Library Administrators:

As a valued education stakeholder, TEA wanted you and your organization to be one of the first to know about a new TEA program that will be launched later today. The new TEA program called Texas Students Using Curriculum Content to Ensure Sustained Success (Texas SUCCESS), which will be available at least through Aug. 31, 2013, provides online interactive mathematics and reading material 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to students in grades 3-8.

These programs, which will be accessible from school or home, support students at all skill levels and encourage progress and achievement as students move through the activities. Each program will assess the skill level of each student and then automatically assign and deliver appropriate curriculum tailored to that student’s abilities.

Teachers and parents will receive reports that show when intervention is needed and when the student is on track.

The new program is part of the state’s Student Success Initiative (SSI).
TEA has created an SSI Support Center at the Region 20 Education Service Center in San Antonio. The center has developed a single web portal,, from which students, parents and school officials may access resources from both the mathematics and reading providers.

Webinars, presentations, and training opportunities for this project will be provided. Visit or call (877) 315-4918 toll free to sign up.
