Time to start thinking about TLA!

from Karen Kessel, Chair of the Texas Association of School Librarians:

Happy New Year from TASL!  With arrival of this year’s TLA Conference Program, it is time to start looking forward to a fun time of learning and renewal at the 2014 annual conference in San Antonio!
Please make sure to renew your membership as elections for TASL and other TLA positions/groups are coming up.  You must be a current member by February 1 to be eligible to vote. As you plan out your conference time, I hope you will consider attending the TECH CAMP preconference event that TASL, YART, and CRT are all co-sponsoring.  This great event includes THREE keynote speakers – Bruce Ellis from TCEA, Library Girl, Jennifer LeGarde, and Tech Ninja, Todd Nesloney.  In addition, there are multiple opportunities to choose from a variety of breakout sessions throughout the day.  Your registration cost also covers lunch and a FREE t-shirt!  Please take a look and consider joining us for this fantastic day of learning – it will get your conference off to a great start!!!
Event information, including an agenda for the day, can be found here http://www.txla.org/groups/TASL.
As always, stay connected with TASL information via our website, Facebook and Twitter (@TxASL) pages.  I hope to give you a closer look at some of the highlighted TASL programs at conference this year, via this listserv and our other social media outlets, as it the event approaches.
 All my best,kk
