Digital Library Summer Read

 OverDrive SummerREAD is an annual program designed to encourage your students to keep reading all year long. The titles selected can supplement other summer reading programs, and will offer unlimited access to students from June 6th-July 18. The collection of titles shown below will be prominently displayed on the Digital Library website in ebook format.

EdCamp Mesquite
Educators from all districts welcome.
The unconference where participants share ideas, strategies and problem-solve together in sessions that are created on the morning of the event.

Region 10 Tech Conference
This annual free event brings together inspiring teachers, campus and district leaders to share practical digital learning tools and strategies to create engaging classrooms and life-long learners.

Google Certified Educator Level 1 Bootcamp (CRN 18125101)
MISD staff only
If you're an educator who knows how to use Google tools in the classroom, this certification proves your proficiency. The Level 1 status indicates that an educator is able to successfully implement G Suite for Education into their teaching practice in order to enhance teaching and learning. This bootcamp is designed to provide the skills you will need to pass the Google Certified Educator Level 1 Exam. *Bootcamp is a preparation course only- the Google Certified Educator Level 1 Exam should be taken through Google on your own after course completion.

Prove You're a Rock Star (online course - CRN 18133601)

Build an online presence using Google Sites to showcase your skills, abilities, and achievements as an educator. Whether your purpose is T-TESS documentation or branding yourself, a professional portfolio highlights the unique talents you bring to education. Participants will leave the course with a working digital portfolio that will expand as you learn and grow.

Edcamp Library is back for a 3rd year! Join us for a day of collaboration and professional learning with school librarians from across Texas and earn 6 hours of PD credit. At Edcamp Library, you provide the content and determine the path for your own learning. We'll have goodies and door prizes to give away, too!

YouTube is a powerful medium for learning because it’s accessible to worldwide audiences and hosts a diverse collection of learning videos. Partnered with YouTube Creators Academy, this course offers strategies for all creators interested in making educational videos on YouTube— whether you want to provide skill-building tips, teach an online curriculum, make ‘how-to’ videos, or experiment with an entertaining learning series. Participants will need a smartphone or district staff iPad to create and add videos to their district YouTube channel.

Edcamp Library 2018

Looking for a fun professional learning event that meets your exact needs? Come to Edcamp Library 2018

Edcamp Library is an "unconference" where librarians share ideas through discussions, demos and interaction with each other. Sessions are not planned or scheduled until the morning of the event when attendees place the topic they would like to present or discuss on the schedule board. Read more about the edcamp model here

This year's Edcamp Library event will take place on Wednesday, June 20 at Lebanon Trial High School in Frisco, from 8:00-1:30. See the Edcamp Library web site to register and purchase an Edcamp Library t-shirt.
